Beta Quick Start

Welcome to the MixMatrix beta program. This guide will get you up and running in under 5 minutes.

You're among the first to experience MixMatrix. Your feedback directly shapes the product. Please report any bugs, crashes, or feature requests to help us improve.

Getting Started

Install MixMatrix

Open the DMG file and drag MixMatrix to your Applications folder. On first launch, you may need to right-click and select "Open" to bypass Gatekeeper (macOS security).

If you see "MixMatrix can't be opened": Right-click the app > Open > Click "Open" in the dialog. Full instructions here

Enter Your Beta License Key

On first launch, enter the 25-character license key from your beta invite email (format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX). Click "Activate Beta" to unlock the app.

Import Your Music

Go to File > Import or drag folders directly into the app. MixMatrix will analyze BPM, key, and other metadata automatically.

Explore Compatibility

Click any track to see instant compatibility scores with your entire library. Green = perfect mix, yellow = workable, gray = avoid.

Build Playlists

Add tracks to playlists and export them to your DJ software. Use the compatibility view to find smooth transitions.

DJ Software Integration

  • Direct import from Serato library
  • Export playlists as Serato crates
  • Syncs BPM and key data
  • File > Serato > Import Library

  • Import rekordbox XML library
  • Export playlists to rekordbox
  • Preserves cue points and loops
  • File > rekordbox > Import Library

Beta Testing Tips

Start with a smaller library

Test with 100-500 tracks first to ensure everything works before importing your full library.

Check the console for errors

If something goes wrong, check View > Developer Tools > Console for error messages to include in bug reports.

Backup your DJ software libraries

Before exporting to Serato/rekordbox, make a backup of your library files just in case.

Report edge cases

Unusual file formats, large libraries, special characters in filenames - these help us make MixMatrix bulletproof.
